Hell is a place for people who reject God and his ways. Why would God want to force himself on someone?

Somewhere on the forum someone said we will love differently when we are in Heaven (Charity?) but I don't know how I feel about that. I never really considered how I would feel in Heaven if someone I love now ends up in Hell. I think that would be harder for the family than those who lose someone due to the death penalty. At least with the death penalty you have the comfort of believing they're in a better place and not suffering. If someone you love is in Hell you know they are suffering and will never find peace. How do you happily enjoy eternity if someone you love is spending that eternity being tormented? How many victims does those two punishments create?

Another contradiction people are expected to swallow in order to be one of the faithful. Love isn't supposed to be about being self absorbed but how self absorbed is it to be happy while someone you love is being tortured? Does that mean there's no actual love in Heaven and it's all about pleasing yourself?

You're coming back to THIS world? THIS planet? You'll probably need a gas mask to breath and those high boots for all the water from glaciers that melted. And there will probably be huge bugs. |

Did you ever consider we're already in Hell but don't know it? Maybe that is Hell. Thinking you are earning your way into Heaven but are really coming back repeatedly to work yourself to your next death?

I said that to my aunt once and she told me if this is Hell there would be no births, no sunshine, no days when you can't stop yourself from humming or whistling. I figure she has a point.

Maybe birth is just a soul coming back to Hell and maybe we want to whistle because we don't know any better.  |
