Blech, woke up to my neighbor pounding on my door because he claims my kid was in his yard. Yes, for the two seconds it took to retrieve a ball that had gone over the fence. Apparently his ring doorbell caught him. I was like dude, don't bang on my door for this. You can clearly see he got the ball and came back over.
Crotchety old man.

Does every neighborhood have one of those? I told my hub he was at risk of becoming that in ours. I don't know but James is certainly ours. The sad part is a few years ago he wasn't like this. I know he had a stroke and it affected him so I try to be patient but grrr, don't wake me up when I didn't get off of work until midnight and didn't get to bed until 5 am. |

We have a mean lady in our neighborhood too. When kids come home from school she stands in her yard right by the sidewalk with a broom in her hand. Some of the kids call her a witch with her broomstick and tell her to fly away. When I went to regular school my mom made us cross the street instead of walking past her house because my mom said the lady is old and she didn't want us disrespecting her. I was good with crossing the street because that lady has a killer cat. Even the dogs are afraid of her cat.

We had a neighbor across the street (now passed) who came over one day telling us we shouldn't leave our front door open (we had a locking storm door that was closed). We tried to explain to him that we're both at home all day long but he insisted there were "bad people" (no doubt from the "other side of the tracks") who would break in while we were home. He also came over another time to tell us that our son was too young to be biking around the neighborhood alone - he was in 4th grade at the time.  |

We had a neighbor across the street (now passed) who came over one day telling us we shouldn't leave our front door open (we had a locking storm door that was closed). We tried to explain to him that we're both at home all day long but he insisted there were "bad people" (no doubt from the "other side of the tracks") who would break in while we were home. He also came over another time to tell us that our son was too young to be biking around the neighborhood alone - he was in 4th grade at the time. We had a neighbor when I was growing up who had a Neighborhood Watch sign on their front steps. My dad used to say that was because they liked to sit on their porch and watch everything everyone in the neighborhood was doing. My mom would tell him "hush...not in front of them" meaning us kids. We had a summer where a dog and three cats all died mysteriously within a short span. We always suspected they had rat poison out in their yard because they didn't like animals going on it. |

Our nasty neighbor story isn't a neighbor at all. It's the son of the elderly couple who live next door to us. He is a miserable thing. I cringe when I see him pull into their driveway. He resents Rob because Rob takes care of snow removal and lawn care for them. This son has a landscaping business and was charging his parents for the work. A few years back Rob saw the old gentleman trying to do his lawn and was afraid the poor guy would have a heart attack. The man told Rob that he and his wife needed to cut down on some costs so he was going to do the outside work himself. Rob told him to tell his wife to provide the cool drink and he'd do it and he's been doing it ever since. He's right next door so it's not that difficult to just run the mower there too and I have three healthy girls who can help with the snow removal. I can't imagine charging my parents for doing something for them. This is the man who threw some ice melting chemical onto our driveway that caused Wilburt tremendous pain and us a vet bill. Miserable man.
