True story: I once got into a heated argument about who sung "La Isla Bonita". I insisted it was Gloria Estefan and Ms. Vince looked at me like I had two heads and calmly said, "It's Madonna." So to this day anytime a Gloria Estefan song comes on the radio she'll ask me, "Oh is that Madonna?" and vice-versa.

I know that Gloria Estefan person from my Spanish class. She sings songs in Spanish so we listen to her in class when we're doing quiet work.

I got called old today by my soon to be eight year old. I was listening to Green Day. Yeah, everyone under the age of 18 knows that's boomer music.  Think he'll make it to nine? That is debatable. |

I am currently re-listening to all 27 hours of Wagner's Ring cycle, some parts are heavy going, but on the whole, a fantastic musical experience.

For whatever reason I was thinking about the English folk rock group Steeleye Span the other day (I have a thing for bluegrass and English/Irish/Scottish folk and fiddle music) and their biggest hit (this was back in 1975, when Maddy Prior was young, although her voice is still as sharp as a tack even in her 70s):
I showed it to Ms. Vince; she's a fan now. These are her people, very English and very pasty and white (but Ms. Vince has better teeth).
