Paying the price

Rosie, it makes no sense.  There is nothing you've ever done that would have contributed to even a thorn in Jesus' crown of thorns.  Baby girl, the crucifixion happened because the people used to sacrifice sheep and whatnot to appease God, to worship him and God wanted to show them that it's no longer necessary because Jesus, was the perfect sacrifice so you can't do better than what's already been done.  God didn't need the sacrifice to show his mercy, people simply felt the need to "pay" for what they did wrong and Jesus paid that bill for us so we would believe that he earned forgiveness for us.  I guess people have never been able to understand that forgiveness is a gift made in love and not something to earn.

Not all of them but most of them seem kind of hard to answer.

Maybe it's not the answer that's important but the process of thinking about the question.

I had an idea for the "how to repay" part of the question: You could write that since Jesus died for forgiveness, you could repay him by being a forgiving person yourself. You could even cite the relevant part ("and forgive us... as we also...") of the Lord's Prayer.

Rosie's a good forgiver too. She forgives everybody. She forgave that man on one forum who pretended to be a Christian mother and she even forgave the man who did stuff to her. Some people shouldn't get forgiveness.

That is like paying it forward and I honest like that idea a lot. It is what I will write about tonight. I really like it.
What Ruby don't understand is that forgiveness is even a selfish kind of thing cause we do it for ourselves so we are not a prisoner of whatever somebody did that needs the forgiving.

That is a good answer.  Jesus tells us to forgive as he forgives so that  makes a lot of sense.

Today my Bible teacher seen what I wrote about paying it forward and he said to me what a great job and he told the class that I got it exactly right. You know there is no right and wrong in these questions. We are just supposed to think about it and write about it and pray about it to. It felt so good to finally get something that my teacher said he was very impressed with.  I did to tell him that I got the thinking that way from somebody on a forum.
