Since there isn't a "What are you watching" sub I figured I'd make a new thread.
For reasons I do not fully understand, I've really gotten into the "Early American" channel, with a young couple who do early 19th century enactments. A lot of it involves cooking with late 1700s and early 1800s recipies, usually with no talking. The woman cooks on an open hearth with period-authentic tools.
So here: enjoy the making of a pumpkin pie using a 1796 recipe:

That is a lot of work just for a pumpkin pie. I thought mace was just something you sprayed at bears or rapists and it is weird how those hot coals got put on top of that kettle.

If only we could go back in time and open up a taco place. Wouldn't that freak them all?

I watched her make sausages and mashed peas that looked sort of gross but the apple pie looked so good. I watched them get dressed for a wedding to and it's weird that their clothes didn't untie and fall off.

Yup I watched the one of them getting dressed too. She couldn't get dressed alone.

They killed, cleaned, and cooked their own turkey using a 1796 recipe:
It did not turn out well:

I will have to watch that maybe tonight. They are both interesting and I wonder what made them think of doing this.
