Boy or girl

Something has got me thinking about being a Christian girl or a boy and do you think it is tons easier to be a Christian boy then being a Christian girl?

That depends on how hypocritical your church is.

I suppose there are more progressive churches out there but my experience has been most religions seem hellbent on subjugating women and children, it's a man's paradise.  I would avoid like the plague any church that promotes submission or uses phrases such as Head of Household.

Submission isn't a bad thing.  All of us teens here have to submit to our parent's authority.  We have to submit to God's authority too.  My dad is HOH and I don't think that's a bad thing because he heads the family with love and concern.

No way will I submit to a man or let a man rule my home. Equality. It will be a partnership. The Bible was written back when women were like the property of men.

I agree with it being equal. Submission is always confusing to me.

Submission doesn't make someone less than someone else.  My mom submits to my dad because he's head of our house but he never makes a decision she disagrees with.  My parents love each other very much so they want to make each other happy.  Submission isn't about controlling your wife.

I don't know why it needs to be submission.  Why not equal but different?  Each person brings their strengths to the relationship and each person compensates for the other persons weaknesses.

It's never made sense to me that the woman be expected to submit to the man when it's generally the woman who runs the household.

No man is ever going to tell me what to do.  I have brothers so I know how stupid the male brain is.

"The mother should always keep in mind that she is molding a future wife and mother.  Challenge them with sewing, cooking, cleaning. learning about everything.  Let them get their hands in the dough (unless the child training teacher is coming for dinner).  From the time they are big enough to tell a tale, they should be talking about what 'Mama and I did today'".
That is raising a girl in the world of Michael and Debi Pearl.

I don't think gender roles or traits are natural.  My son used to love playing with his sister's dolls so I got him one.  My youngest daughter can identify types of cars.  I can't do that by looking at them but she sure can.
This teaching boys to do "boy things" and girls to do "girl things" is insane.  What happens if a mom dies leaving the dad with six kids to cook for?  If the dad dies who's going to make sure the tires on the car are safe?
Does Scarlette's and Rosie's father believe they should be taught to cook, clean, do laundry, sew?

Are you still reading that book?  I could recommend a good book if you'd like....it won't be about beating kids or child development....just a good read.
