In Bible class today my teacher had us all write our name on a index card thing and fold it in half. Then he made us all put it in this mop bucket and he swirled it all around. Then he got this timer thing that he set for 1 minute and we all got 1 minute to put our hand in the pail to find our name. Every time we got the wrong name we had to fold it back up and put it back in the mop pail. That took us 10 minutes total to do but none of us even got out our own name except for 1 person.
Then he said for us to do it a different way and he set the timer for 10 minutes to see if we could do better this time than last time in that 10 minutes.
We all had a turn with the mop pail but when we pulled out one of the cards we gave it to whoever had there name on it and we only picked one card a piece. Just one turn you know.
It didn't even take 2 minutes for us all to get our name that way.
Then he said for us to write a paragraph on what that taught us.
It was fun to do and I like when we learn that way and not just from reading in a book or listening to him talk.
What do you think it taught us?

I think I like your Bible teacher. I know what it would teach me but I'd like to know what it taught you.

He is ok except for when he is just talking cause then he is just kind of boring.
I think it means to work together and then stuff like life is easier.

Yes I think it is true. We been talking about being citizens of Heaven and that fable about them ox sticking together and to its also like how elephants protect there babies is to circle them in danger you know. So if we just love each other or just be kind if we can't love somebody we will be stronger. People who are selfish and only care about what is for them don't understand it makes them weaker just like you know when you forgive somebody you are the one who is better off for doing the forgiving even. I don't know but we need each other and that is how come to that we got families.

Citizens of Heaven? Don't you have to be dead first?

No. You have to be dead to be a saint. A citizen of Heaven means our home is Heaven. I think the Bible calls in citizenship but I'm not positive. We live here but our home is in Heaven and we're supposed to stick together and live like that. Like expats might do when they move to a different country.

Ah that makes sense.....at least as much sense as it's going to make. I'm Catholic but I'm thinking I'm probably more of a spiritualist than a good Catholic. Now that I've made that claim, I'm going to go find out just what a Spiritualist is.

How can you be something if you don't even know what it is? Did you decide you like how the word sounds? I am Independent Baptist because my aunt is and so is my dad although he's technically Southern Baptist. I have no clue what the difference is. When I'm an adult and on my own I will have to look around and decide what I am. It's not a choice I'm allowed to make right now so I'm stuck. My church is homophobic and misogynistic. I'm not either of those things. I kind of like Buddhism but I don't know a lot about it yet. I think I believe in reincarnation. I definitely don't believe in Hell even if I can think of some people who deserve a one way ticket to there. I believe in karma. I believe in Jesus but I also believe Muhammad was a prophet. I think people have screwed up the messages they tried to give because people always have their own hidden agenda. I am always suspicious of someone who thinks he or she has all the answers. No-one has the answers. We are all explorers.

I think maybe God don't want for us to have it all figured out and likes to be a little bit of a mystery so we have to keep looking to find the answers and don't get bored. Mostly you know that just makes me confused but I know other people are better at figuring stuff out.

Then you don't want to be Catholic. They think they have all the answers. Very good at bossing people about. Tickets.

Only don't the Catholic church change ideas or just have like guesses with stuff like what happens when a baby dies without being baptized? What are tickets? What I do not like is the Catholic church don't want for my mom to be married to my dad and that is just plane wrong.

It's not quite that simple, Rosie. The church has its rules and they have a right to those rules. I can either abide by them or not. I can choose to remain in the church or I can find one that better aligns with my beliefs.

The problem with organized religion is it doesn't let us decide what we think is right or wrong. I don't think people are stupid but religion treats us like we are.

I believe there is a God and I believe in Jesus but I don't believe in religion. Religion is too busy judging to do any good.
