Prayer and Song

My grandma from my first mom is a Baptist and she has a strong faith and one song she sings a lot is amazing grace.  She says the song gives her comfort.  You know she lost 2 of her kids.  First it was a little boy who drowned in a pool and then it was my mom from the overdose.  My mom now says of my grandma she don't know how she got through it all with her sanity cause if one of us was to die she would lay down right beside us and die to.  I know how my grandma goes on and its cause of her faith that they are both good and will be with her again when she goes to Heaven.  I wish I could be strong in my faith how my grandma is but no how she plays Elvis a lot and she loves his Amazing Grace but I found a new one for her that I think is even prettier but really Scarlette sort of found it cause she says she is obsessed with this group but do you have a song that speaks to your heart or soul?  Scarlette said to me that singing is like praying twice and I guess some saint person said that.  Do you believe that is truth or not?

I think it was St. Augustine who said you pray twice when you sing. That is a pretty version of the song. A song I like that touches me is Here I am Lord. Their voices are amazing. It's hard to believe they are an a capella group.

Rosie I'm with your mum. I do not think I could carry on if something happened to one of my children. I suppose a mum has to for the other children but a large part of me would be buried with my child. It hurts to even think about it. Your grandma is a strong woman.
That is a beautiful version of Amazing Grace. A beautiful song and they sing like angels. I like many Christian songs but How Great Thou Art always gets me right in the heart.

They do sing it so beautiful and something else I like about it is at least 2 of them are gay so it isn't like some things that get so judgemental about different people you know what I mean?

I'm not super religious.  I believe and went to a Christian school but lately my relationship with God has been rollercoasterish.  But someone posted this song on the other forum I belong to and it spoke to me.  I love this forum because we try not to judge each other.  Sometimes we do because we're human but I think we're pretty good at accepting one another and caring about each other right where we're at.  You guys didn't throw me out on my butt when I was having a hard time.  Here's the song.

It just means stop doing stuff that is not good for your headspace or being with people who make you feel bad about yourself you know.  I stole it from a song Scarlette was listening to.
