I thought it might be fun to have a slower moving music variant of This or That.
The idea is to choose between two pieces of music that are related in some way: two songs by the same artist, the same song performed by different bands, two arie on the same topic, two pieces of classical instrumental music, etc. In order to give everybody time to listen to the choices, several people get to answer the same question and a new one may be posted only after 24 hours (posted "yesterday" or earlier).
She's A Rainbow

Paint It, Black

She's a Rainbow is probably the most un-Rolling Stones song by the Rolling Stones. It always sounded to me like it escaped from the Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour or Sgt. Pepper's. Not bad, just very, very different.

When I listened to it, my first thought was "Beatles" but then I looked at what I was listening to and it was not The Beatles. I think I preferred "She's a Rainbow" even though that was my first time hearing that song. I've heard Paint it black several times and I don't dislike it.

I like the first one so it is my This one. That second one is kind of dark feeling. You know like somebody is drowning or suffocating from something.

I don't understand what either song means.

I don't understand what either song means. You don't have to interpret the songs, just say which one you like more. Music is a matter of taste, and you can't really argue about taste, it's just your opinion.

Mandy, think lots of drugs when you try to make sense of some of the older songs. It's crazy but I'll still take it over some rapper calling me a biotch and worse. I like the second better. The music has more meat and less fluff to it.

I never heard the first one before but I have heard the second one (on the Oldies station I believe). I'm a love song/ballad kind of gal and the first one has that kind of melody so my This or That Music Edition Choice is She's a Rainbow.

Definitely Paint it black.
Three versions of the same song:
This, That or Over There.

I've heard all three versions and I like something about each of them but my favorite is number one (the original).

Good choice! I knew the first two, but the Pentatonix cover was new to me.
My favourite is still the original by Simon & Garfunkel, maybe because I knew it for a long time before the others came out. The Disturbed version also works for me, but I think there are too many individual singers in the Pentatonix cover. They are good, but the song gets too crowded.

I believe Pentatonix is a Capella so they need those voices to replace instruments? I tend to prefer originals, like old friends, comfortable.
