Birth control and the Catholic perspective

What about people who can't afford a bunch of kids.  Making a baby is fun but raising them is a major responsibility and money is needed.  If you have more kids than you can afford, aren't you setting up your kids for failure?

I don't know how anyone can afford a family of 11 soon to be 12. I'd be interested to know some of her parent's secrets for feeding such a crowd.

How many bedrooms are there in your house?

This house has 4 bedrooms.  My mom and dad don't own this house but they own our house in Arkansas.  Someone is renting our house in Arkansas.  My mom and dad are talking about selling it.  I hope they don't because I love that house and I hope we can go back home someday.
I don't know how much they spend on groceries.

I don't think most families can afford 9 kids.

People can be quite amazing and make things work. My sister has a large family and a larger garden.

Maybe they have cows and pigs too?

I'm trying to imagine 9 kids in 3 bedrooms. I hope they're large bedrooms. It must take a long time to have mashed potatoes passed to you from one end of the table if you're at the opposite end.

I've never had to share a bedroom but my upstairs sisters do and I think that's hard.  No private space.  Privacy is important.

I share a bedroom with Ruby and it does stink sometimes but I would like to be in a super big family.

I share a bedroom with Faith and Prudence. I don't mind sharing a bedroom.  Everyone in my family shares a bedroom with someone, even my mom and dad.  The important thing is to respect each others privacy.  We have our own tubs under our beds for things that are personal and not shared.  It really isn't hard to share a room.
